Tidepool Loop Device Partners
Community-driven innovation, made real by Tidepool
A vision carried forward
Tidepool Loop began as a community project.
People with diabetes and their loved ones imagined a world where technology worked across devices, put choice back in people’s hands, and moved faster than industry alone.
Tidepool took on the challenge of turning that vision into reality.
With your support, we:
Tidepool Loop at the core of twiist AID system powered by Tidepool
At the heart of the twiist AID System is the Tidepool Loop algorithm— built from the first FDA-cleared, fully interoperable AID system available on iPhone and Apple Watch which is created from community-led innovation. Tidepool transformed a grassroots idea into a regulated medical device by working with the FDA, running usability studies, and building a device that meets the highest standards of safety and reliability.
Now, people living with diabetes can:
What this means for your care experience
With the twiist AID System connected to the Tidepool Data Platform, diabetes management becomes easier and more connected:
Better Visits
Clinicians have the latest data ready for care decisions
Less Prep Work
Continuous data flow reduces pre-visit burden
Clearer Insights
Easy-to-read reports show patterns and trends
Stronger Connections
Care teams can provide proactive guidance between visits
Continuous, connected data makes every visit more useful, every decision better informed, and every step of care more connected.
Championing interoperability
Choice matters. Tidepool Loop was designed to work across devices from the start. Every new device partner expands what’s possible—ensuring that people with diabetes aren’t locked into a single system, but instead can build the toolkit that works best for them.
From community to clinic
What began with the #WeAreNotWaiting movement is now available as part of routine care. Tidepool carried the vision through usability studies, quality systems, clinical evidence, and FDA review to ensure safety and effectiveness.
